Boutique Hotel
Interior Design in Príncipe RealSet in a Pombaline building, rich in historical architectural elements, the interior design project for this boutique hotel could not have been more inspired.
The interior design work carried out by the Margarida Bugarim studio consisted fundamentally of the perfect union between period architecture and interior design.
We wanted to bring contemporaneity to the interior design and ambience of the boutique hotel through the use of innovative materials and contemporary colors, as well as providing comfort and a welcoming feeling, in counterpoint to the building's own austerity.
Designing a modern interior in a Pombaline building involves balancing respect for the historic architecture with the harmonious incorporation of contemporary elements.
To this end, before starting this interior design project, it was essential to study the architectural features of the building, research the materials used and assess the decorative elements present and their historical characteristics, to incorporate them into the interior design of this boutique hotel and enhance the history of the space.
The interior design for this project was meticulously crafted and carefully selected in order to create a modern decoration project that respects and celebrates the history and architecture of the building, while adding a contemporary sensibility to the space.
The palette of neutral, deep and discreet tones for the interior design was chosen to convey the balance and harmony needed to unify the two eras that were to be brought together in this interior design project in Príncipe Real.
This approach gave the overall environment a cozy feel and at the same time transformed an austere Pombaline building into an elegant, sophisticated and serene home.
On the walls, a off-white was chosen to provide a neutral and versatile base for the rest of the interior design and to highlight the moldings, wall paneling and decorated ceilings which, in the common areas, were covered in light gray for greater contemporaneity.
As with all our interior design projects, the fabrics have been carefully selected to add texture and comfort.
White linen curtains with applied bars and gray velvet complement the walls and provide privacy and light control to the boutique hotel. The carpets used in the private areas, in dark gray, add a layer of comfort; the blankets in soft velvet and cashmere fabrics add a touch of luxury and comfort to the sofas and beds selected for this interior design.
Wool rugs are another comfort element that the interior designer has used extensively in this boutique hotel.
Although the main color palette used in the interior design of all the private areas is composed of sober tones, the choice to place a pink carpet on the staircase added a touch of irreverence and unparalleled visual interest to this interior design project in Lisbon.
Other touches of pink have also been introduced into the interior design: loose brushstrokes in the living rooms and communal areas that make an elegant contrast with the hydraulic mosaic flooring, in a game of black and white that subtly adds depth and strength to the interior design without overpowering the decor.
In the bathrooms we find designer sanitary ware that coexists harmoniously with the period architecture and accessories such as mirrors, lamps and paintings have been prioritized.
In a project where the interior design is luxury, these are options that give a lot of personality and complete the decor.
Ceramic vases in neutral tones, metal sculptures, contemporary prints and scented candles in transparent glass containers add a touch of sophistication and elegance to the interior design.
Framed works of art in neutral or monochrome colors have been carefully placed throughout the building and complete the color palette, serving to enrich the interior design.
The classic furniture, with simple and elegant design, with clean lines and geometric shapes, was mixed with glass furniture with straight, contemporary forms for a purposeful diachrony in a contemporary play for interior design.
Although interior designer Margarida Bugarim is aware of the proportions and scale of the decorative elements, the choice of larger scales in some cases to create impact and a sense of unbalanced balance was a conscious one - it lends a certain contemporaneity to the entire interior design.
In this boutique hotel interior design project, the lighting was carefully planned to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Chandeliers, wall lights and lamps in dark metal or matte black add a touch of elegance to the space. Table lamps and abat-jours in soft tones, but with irreverent designs, blend in and provide a modern atmosphere without losing the air of serenity of this interior design.
This charming old luxury building is located in the Príncipe Real area of Lisbon and resulted in this fantastic interior design project for a boutique hotel. The building has an impressive façade, with windows lined up in regular order, balconies decorated with wrought iron railings and a huge central door with wood and metal details.
This interior design project for a boutique hotel is located in the center of Lisbon, in one of the noblest and most typical areas of the city, with narrow streets and cobbled sidewalks where the houses are mostly period and very close to the Príncipe Real garden.
The building where we carried out the interior design for the boutique hotel is Pombaline in style, with several rooms spread over three floors, high ceilings with floral designs and plaster moldings and a beautiful wooden staircase with an elegant handrail.
The tiles used in the kitchens and bathrooms, which were used in this interior design project, give a glimpse of the noble and meticulous work of the craftsmen of the time and the taste of the owners, which allowed the interior design work to be enriched even further.
The very characteristics of the building made it possible to develop a fantastic interior design project in this space and upgrade this luxury villa into a charming boutique hotel.
The interior design was marked not only by the purposeful sobriety that was sought, but also by the scenic effect created by the interior design team with exuberant accents highlighted in the boutique hotel's interior design project.
